It looks like the employment picture in Penticton and across the Okanagan is looking better according to the latest figures from Statistics Canada.
The report showed that 820 people in Penticton received EI benefits in October, a 34.9 per cent decrease from the 1,260 who collected benefits in May. The year over year picture still shows that the numbers were up 74.5 per cent from the 470 claims in October 2008, as the recession bit into the economy. Read the story from the Penticton Western
